Scrap Metal Pickup Checklist for UAE Businesses

A commercial scrap pickup works best when the seller treats it as a logistics project. Material value matters, but so do ownership, access, loading time, permissions, labour and accurate information.

Confirm ownership and approval

Identify who owns the material and who may release it. Keep leased, warrantied, data-bearing or fixed-asset items separate until the responsible manager approves disposal.

Build a material inventory

List copper, cable, aluminium, brass, stainless steel, batteries, iron and mixed equipment separately. Add estimated weight, item count, pallets or container size. Disclose fluids, refrigerants, insulation, electronics and non-metal waste.

Photograph the complete load

Take a wide image of each storage area, representative close-ups and label or cable cross-section photos. Include the least-prepared material as well as the cleanest.

Check access and loading

  • gate dimensions and security procedure;
  • floor, lift, ramp and loading-bay limits;
  • available forklift, crane or labour;
  • parking rules and collection hours;
  • PPE, induction and vehicle documents.

Separate controlled items

Batteries, pressurised equipment, oil-filled machinery, refrigerant systems and data-bearing devices need extra care. Do not hide them inside general scrap.

Choose the correct collection path

Facilities and offices should review commercial scrap collection. Factories belong on the industrial clearance page, construction projects on construction scrap collection, and batteries on the UPS battery guide.
